What Is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a safe and simple alternative to other more extensive skin rejuvenation treatments. During treatment, a sterile medical scalpel is feathered across your skin to remove unwanted peach fuzz. It also exfoliates your skin to remove the outermost skin cells. Your technician will move the blade along the treatment area while holding your skin taut. This technique reduces the risk of accidental cutting. Your skin will feel smooth, refreshed and rejuvenated after your treatment.
Benefits Of Choosing Dermaplaning:
- Immediate results
- Removes peach fuzz that absorbs oil and dirt
- Improves skin’s ability to absorb moisture
- Stimulates blood circulation
- Minimizes the appearance of enlarged pores, fine lines, and wrinkles
- Increases skin elasticity
- Corrects skin texture
Am I a good Dermaplaning candidate?
We will determine if dermaplaning is right for you during your initial consultation. Clients who are approved for treatment are generally in good health and do not have shingles, open lesions, diabetes or thin, raw skin. They also do not take blood thinners or antibiotics. If you are taking antibiotics, we will ask you to wait at least ten days after completion of your medication before receiving your treatment.
What are the risks of Dermaplaning?
Our technicians wear gloves and only use sterilized blades, significantly minimizing the risk of infection. Our team is also trained and experienced in dermaplaning, but working with sharp instruments always involves the rare risk of an accidental cut.
During your initial consultation, we will make you aware of any possible risks. The skill of the technician and the cooperation of the client can determine the success of the treatment. Please refrain from using your cell phone or other items that may distract you as sudden movements can interfere with the treatment. To avoid accidental cuts or nicks, please alert the technician if you have to sneeze, cough or move.
