Kristi Wait | In House RN

Meet Kristi Wait, In-House RN

Estimated reading time: 4 minutes

When I think about humanity, specifically in America, there’s a clear, distinct picture that comes to my mind. I envision the streets of New York City, crowded with people, all walking in different directions. People from all over the world and from different walks of life just rushing through the streets of the Big Apple. Maybe these people have the same commute on the same streets every single day, pass the same faces, and they never even notice. I hope that picture doesn’t exhaust you as much as it does me! Don’t get me wrong, I love NYC, but I can’t help but have some questions. How do people connect? How do so many cultures, beliefs, and worldviews engage each other? I strongly believe the answer is found in the power of each of our stories.

With the idea of connecting with others in mind, I’d love to share a little about one of our own dream team members, Kristi Wait. She is loved by many and admired by all. Here is a little bit of her story.…

Kristi, tell us all about yourself.

I was born and raised in Houston, The Woodlands area. I’m married to Jason, my favorite person on the planet! We have three grown children— Taylor, Evan, and Kennadie—and three dogs: Heidi, MJ, and Sadie. My family is absolutely my LIFE.

I was a labor and delivery nurse for over seven years before transitioning into aesthetics nursing. I love music (all types except for jazz) and have it playing constantly at my house or in my car, just don’t quiz me on the artist!

I like to have fun! I’m not a morning person; I must have coffee before speaking or thinking! My favorite place to travel is Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. My favorite classic movie is Tommy Boy. My go-to TV shows when I don’t want to think are Friends and The Office. I’m currently finishing up the last episode of Stranger Things. My favorite food is Mexican, and according to my friends and family, I make the BEST guacamole!

Why do you feel you were called to aesthetics nursing?

I have always been fascinated by aesthetics and dreamed of working in the industry from an early age. I love the beauty industry, and there is something so rewarding about helping women and men look and feel their best. Finding a way to put my medical background to work in the field of aesthetics was literally a dream come true.

What are Your Top Three Favorite Elite Medical and Skin Laser Center Services?

It is impossible to narrow it down to three!! How about seven?

  • Laser Hair Removal – Um, seriously, because who likes to shave?
  • Microdermabrasion/Chemical Peel – Getting rid of those dead skin cells and allowing fresh skin to glow is so satisfying.
  • Microinfusion Cocktails – Injecting PRP, Jeuveau (or Botox), and vitamins back into deeper layers of the skin promotes growth factors and collagen production under the skin. Who doesn’t want smaller pores and youthful skin?!
  • Jeuveau or Botox Injections – No wrinkles or fine lines—need I say more?
  • Photofacials – Say “bye-bye” to unwanted dark spots.
  • Microblading – See you later, peach fuzz and dead skin!
  • Hydrafacial – Brightens me up and gives me all the glow.

Seriously… I love them ALL!

What is Your Skin Care Routine?

Currently, I am using a combination of PCA and Elta Skin Care products. However, I just placed an order for SKIN BETTER Cleansing Gel, Alto, AlphaRet, and Eye Interfuse. I am loving the results I am seeing on our clients and wanted to experience them for myself!

Tell us about working at Elite.

Working at Elite Medical Skin & Laser Center has been an amazing experience. My coworkers have welcomed me with open arms and treated me like family since day one! They encourage and support me in my endeavors of aesthetic nursing.

Our clients have also been so kind and amazing! We have the best clients in town, bar none! It’s refreshing and rewarding to come to “work” and spend the day with awesome people! I am enjoying getting to know each client and helping them love the skin they are in.

What is the Best and Worst Advice You’ve Ever Been Given?

The Best Advice: To keep the cake moist, eat it all in one sitting!

The Worst Advice: “You have enough shoes and clothes… you don’t need to go shopping.” I don’t need that kind of negativity in my life!

I hope you enjoyed getting to know Kristi as much as I did. On your next visit to Elite Medical and Skin Laser Center, we would love to hear more about you. See you very soon!
